Tools and Manufacturing Plan

Prepare the workspace, suppliers, tooling, inspection equipment, and consumables for self-sourcing.

Self-source path

This path requires manufacturing and wire-harness capabilities beyond the tools used to assemble a DIY Kit.

Workspace

Separate areas for:

  • received and accepted parts
  • quarantined or rejected parts
  • mechanical inspection and insert installation
  • wire cutting, termination, labeling, and electrical testing
  • unpowered electronics inspection
  • protected battery storage
  • final module kits
  • crane-supported integration and commissioning

Assembly and Inspection Tools

  • metric hex keys or drivers; exact sizes TBC
  • multimeter
  • labels and build records
  • crane or support frame
  • safety goggles and protective footwear
  • torque tooling and values: TBC
  • dimensional inspection equipment: TBC

Insert and Wiring Tools

  • controlled heat-insert tool or suitable soldering iron
  • insert tips and temperatures: TBC
  • wire cutter and stripper compatible with the released wire specification: TBC
  • connector crimp tools and dies: TBC
  • contact insertion and extraction tools: TBC
  • soldering equipment for the documented pass-through joins
  • continuity, polarity, and short-circuit test fixtures: TBC
  • heat-shrink, insulation, strain relief, labels, and sleeving: TBC

Manufacturing Plan

For each custom part, decide whether it will be manufactured internally or by a qualified supplier. Record the required process, material, finish, inspection method, and acceptance result.

TBC: manufacturing controls

Critical tolerances, inspection tooling, process certificates, post-processing requirements, torque values, insert specifications, and released wire tooling remain TBC.
