Install Heat-Set Inserts

Install and inspect all required heat-set inserts in self-manufactured parts.

Self-source path

DIY Kit parts arrive with inserts installed. This procedure is only for self-manufactured parts.

Use a controlled heat-insert tool or suitable soldering iron.

  • install inserts only at marked locations
  • keep each insert straight while pressing it in
  • avoid overheating PA12 parts
  • stop if surrounding material deforms or discolors
  • confirm every insert is fully seated and aligned
  • allow the part to cool before test-fitting a fastener

TBC: insert specification

Exact insert sizes, quantities, installation temperature, insertion depth, pull-out acceptance criteria, and an equivalent textual location map are TBC. The images below are visual references only.
