Manufacture and Test Wiring

Build, label, and electrically test normal wire harnesses from the released manifest.

Self-source path

Self-source builders manufacture normal harnesses. DIY Kit buyers receive normal harnesses premade by the manufacturer.

Required Source

TBC: released wire manifest

The authoritative manifest with globally unique cable IDs, wire specification, lengths, connector part numbers, contacts, pinouts, endpoints, and module assignments is TBC. Do not cut or terminate wiring from the viewer alone.

The wire viewer may be used to understand routing, but currently available wiring sources disagree and are not an acceptance manifest.

Normal Harness Process

For each released harness:

  1. Record the cable ID, revision, module, and endpoints.
  2. Cut the specified conductor and sleeving to the released length.
  3. Strip and terminate using the specified tooling and contact requirements.
  4. Assemble connector housings with the released pinout and orientation.
  5. Add labels that remain visible during assembly.
  6. Inspect contacts, latches, insulation, sleeving, and strain relief.
  7. Test continuity, polarity, conductor isolation, and shorts.
  8. Record the test result before accepting the harness.

Connections Left Open for Assembly

Do not complete these during preparation:

  1. Wago joins between specified supplied single-ended wires.
  2. Soldered joins between specified single-ended wires after routing through an obstructing part.

Manufacture and label both single-ended sides, then kit them unjoined with the required Wago or soldering materials. Exact affected cable IDs and connection specifications are TBC.
