Extension Guide Status

Current boundaries and required interface data for hands, sensors, payloads, and mounting extensions.

Hands are not included in the base Asimov 1 robot. Mechanical, electrical, communication, and software interfaces for third-party hands, sensors, payloads, and custom modules are not yet released as supported extension procedures.

Required Before an Extension Guide Can Be Published

  • versioned mounting geometry, fasteners, keep-out zones, and CAD interface
  • supported mass, center-of-gravity, inertia, and load limits with test conditions
  • approved supply voltage, current budget, connector, pinout, wire gauge, conversion, and branch protection
  • emergency-stop, shutdown, and fault behavior for the added hardware
  • validated communication electrical interface and software protocol
  • cable routing, strain relief, collision, thermal, and ingress constraints
  • compatible hardware and software revisions
  • installation, inspection, commissioning, and removal procedures

Do not use undocumented power points

Do not connect extension hardware to the main battery, an actuator port, the motion-control board, or internal wiring based on earlier drafts. Power distribution, fusing, conversion, connector limits, and emergency-stop behavior remain TBC.

The public CAD may be used to study the current shape of the robot, but it does not establish a supported attachment point or payload rating.
