Connect Raspberry Pi 5 with RPU

Connect the two computers, join the setup network, and secure the default dashboard account.

Connect and Power On

  1. With both boards powered off, connect the Ethernet cable directly between the Raspberry Pi 5 and the RPU. This private link does not connect to a router.
  2. Apply the approved power source to each board.
  3. Allow approximately two minutes for startup.

TBC: board power method

The source guide does not identify board connector polarity, fuse, switch, power sequencing, or emergency disconnect hardware. Use only the released board power configuration.

Connect to the Dashboard

  1. Join the Wi-Fi network asimov1 from a laptop or phone.
  2. Enter the initial Wi-Fi password asimovsetup.
  3. Open http://10.42.0.1:8080.
  4. Sign in with the initial account admin and password admin.
  5. Open Account and change the password immediately.

Change the default password

Do not continue while the dashboard still uses its public default credentials. Anyone within range of the setup network could otherwise reach the robot controls.

On Dashboard, confirm the RPU is reported as reachable. If it is not, stop and inspect the Ethernet connection and both board power states.
