Step 11: Install the Linkage Shaft

Take the 6mm D-Shaft Stainless Steel and put 2 – Steel Set-Screw Collar onto it. Move it to the middle of the D-Shaft. Slightly tighten each set screw to keep the collar in place.

Take 2 – Ball Joint Rod End and put it one each on the right and left of the D-Shaft.

Take 2 – 6mm Bore 1-Side, 2-Post Pillow Blocks and put one each on the right and left of the D-shaft. Make sure that the bearing facing outward on the Pillow Block is sunken into the hole instead of flat against it. Please view the visualization in detail to install it correctly.

Take part 500_36A and fit it onto part 500_39C as shown below.

Then take the D-shaft component we have been building and align it with part 500_36A and 500_39C according to the visualization below.

Flip the assembly upside down so part 500_39C is visible. Take 4 – M4x16 flat bolts and lightly tighten them into the holes on part 500_39C to align with the threaded holes in the two pillow-block legs.

After the parts are aligned:

• remove each of the 4 – M4x16 socket bolts,
• apply threadlocker,
• then tighten them back to secure Part 500_39C and the 2 Pillow Block.

Take part 500_37C and align it with the holes on part 500_36A as shown below

Take 7 - M4x16 flat bolts and tighten it into the 7 holes on part 500_39C as shown below to secure it to part 500_37C.

After the parts are aligned:

• remove each of the 7 – M4x16 flat bolts,
• apply threadlocker,
• then tighten them back to secure Part 500_39C and part 500_37C together.

Turn the current subassembly around such that part 500_39C is facing downward toward the floor. You need to flush the 2 – Ball Joint Rod to flush against the 2 Pillow Block, then tighten the set screw on the Steel Set-Screw Collar to secure them in place accordingly.
